Winter holiday at Lake Heiterwang

Some people ask themselves: "Will white winters soon be a thing of the past? One thing is clear: the seasons are changing and the weather is crazy.

It is possible to go on circular hikes around Heiterwanger and Plansee until well into December and sometimes even beyond. Luckily, winter has so much more to offer than skiing and cross-country skiing.

They are located in the immediate vicinity of Fischer am See and thanks to the altitude and modern snow-making facilities, nothing stands in the way of a perfect day's skiing.

Do you already know Lumagica? A sea of lights illuminates the ruins of Ehrenberg Castle from mid-November to the end of February. From 5 pm, when darkness falls over the land, the entire castle lights up and Knight Rüdiger goes in search of his family in the historic castle.

The dizzying suspension bridge "Highline179", which is more than 400 metres long, also shines with thousands of lights far into the night sky. Especially at night, a trip to nearby Reutte is a fascinating spectacle that you shouldn't miss.

The best way to combine this romantic experience is with a visit to "Reutte on Ice". In the middle of the Reutte park area, a fantastic place has been created for ice skating and pirouetting on more than 2,000 square metres. Ice princesses glide over skateways, those who want to can have fun with curling and even play ice hockey.

You can conveniently hire the equipment directly on site. In the evenings, Reutte on Ice is transformed into a real fairytale land thanks to the light show, the magic of which nobody can resist.
